Cow's shoulder blades inscribed with aliphates or basmala(s) are almost usual finds in medieval excavations in the Iberian Peninsula. Four previously unpublished scapulae are presented in this paper, along with another ten which were considered as school tablets writing in former studies. new interpretation as amulets is proposed for these scapulae bearing Arabic inscriptions, which may hypothetically be related to magic practices linked to the protection of long-term grain storage in silos.
