In this article I undertake the reconstruction of the Banū l-Ṭaylasān, the Banū l-Šarrāṭ and the Banū ‘Ayyash families, as well as the study of the relationships between them by means of a strategy of marriage alliances that was designed by Abū l-Qāsim al-Šarrāṭ. This study demonstrates that these family ties are intimately linked to the transmission of knowledge, especially Ḥadīh and Koranic Sciences. I also analyse the Anṣārī nisba-s which may have been adopted at a later stage.
